AALPS Midlands adheres to a specific and structured policy in relation to referral, assessment and admissions procedures.

As a needs led, personalised service we provide assessments that enable the person being assessed to contribute by using their preferred methods of communication as well as advocacy.

All assessments are undertaken by appropriately trained, experienced members of staff and, where necessary, will include clinical input. They are conducted in partnership with key people including parents, carers and clinical professionals.

The assessment covers areas such as being healthy, developing skills to stay safe, enjoying and achieving, making a personalised positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing including access to housing.

Our aim is to offer appropriate, ASD-specific placements that focus on the short and long term aspirations and abilities of the people we support.
