Vision StatementHigford School supports the most vulnerable children and young people to maximise their potential for independence through tailored programmes offering a range of flexible and creative educational and social experiences Email: guy.olivier@optionsgroup.co.uk |
Set in a secluded 28 acre site in the rolling Shropshire countryside near Telford, Higford School is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art school, incorporating a range of innovative concepts and approaches to enable young people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder to make sense of the world around them.
Both the school and home follow a consistent, autism-specific approach that encourages each young person to develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible. The school’s currciulum is both creative and flexible, with widespread use of visual strategies to support communication and the exercise of choices. This is linked to a wide range of activities to promote the acquisition of life and social skills for the future.
In addition, Higford offers the facilities for young people with ASD and the most complex physical, psychological and sensory needs to benefit from its unique blend of facilities and expert support.
