Individual Life Skills and Educational Programmes are developed to encourage the young person with autism in their learning, developing their communication and interaction and in assisting the individual to utilise their creativity. Plans are developed using a Person Centred approach and focus is placed upon the autistic person’s abilities and interests to encourage learning and in creating and maintaining links in the community.
Our first point of contact is to offer a comprehensive, autism specific assessment. If a young person is deemed suitable for the service then a detailed transition programme is constructed. Our initial approach will be to replicate successful interventions used in the previous placement and build up a clear picture of what works with the young person. A destination is agreed at the outset ensuring that we are all working towards the same target. to help them manage or put into perspective any specific difficulties
