Transition
AALPS (Midlands) primary goal from day one is to help for young adults with autism and /or compatible learning and /or communication difficulties maximise their potential for independent living.
The initial target is a return to the home community, with the appropriate levels of support.
It is recognised, however, that this process may have several building blocks towards achievement and these will be both supported and discussed with the young adults themselves, their family and the referred.
AALPS (Midlands) can also provide medium term accommodation for young adults who, due to the complexity of their needs, require a slightly longer period of support and positive reinforcement to enable them to engage fully in society.
Wider Options offers proposes a range of residential and supported living options for graduates of our services within the West Midlands who need varying levels of support to enable them to achieve their potential or independence.
Continuity of care at this level is seen to be a crucial step towards success.
