The Personalisation Agenda is being implemented across adult social care to ensure that people who receive support, whether provided by statutory services or funded by themselves, will have choice and control over the shape of that support in all care settings. Implementing the key messages of the Personalisation Agenda in all of our services also means that the care that each person receives throughout their journey with Options Group is flexible and continually adapted to meet their changing needs. We also believe that Personalisation should have a direct impact on how we provide services for children and young people. This way the children and young people that we support get the care that best represents their needs and aspirations whilst ensuring safety at all times. For example, we ensure that all of our BESD services promote choice and control through the use of confidential questionnaires and feedback forms. At Young Options College, we hold meetings with the children and young people once a week during which they are encouraged to express their views about the support that they are receiving and how they feel they are progressing. Young people and adults who access our Further Options services are involved in the recruitment and training of staff and in our accreditation processes. Beginning with a thorough assessment, the care and support that each person receives in our BESD services is adapted and developed to meet their changing needs. We promote choice and control through our person-centred plans which facilitate the genuine participation of people in the decisions that affect their lives.
