All young people and their foster carers have access to Options Group’s Professional and Clinical Multi-Disciplinary team (PCMT), providing therapeutic and clinical input in tandem with our fostering and education services.

The Professional and Clinical Multi-Disciplinary Team work in partnership with carers to ensure that all young people receive care that is pro-active and consistent.

This includes ongoing support in the Young Options Therapeutic Approach – a three-stage programme overseen by an experienced psychotherapist.

Stage 1. Helps carers understand the behaviour, thinking and feelings of young people with attachment disorders and other complex emotional and behavioural needs

Stage 2. Applies this knowledge through strategies that nurture and re-parent. This includes addressing dysfunctional or inappropriate behaviour and beliefs and replacing them using positive role modelling and explanation.

Stage 3. Provides young people with one-to-one counselling with a psychotherapist.
