Further Options is an experienced provider of integrated support to young people aged 16 to 25 who are leaving care, may be at risk or in need of continuing support into adulthood. The aim of our service is to help young people realise their aspirations for the future and potential for independence. All packages of support are person-centred and completely flexible to adapt to changing needs. Every young person is supported to organise their own daily routine and access purposeful activities of their choosing including educational, voluntary and paid work placements. Every young person has a dedicated support worker who assists them in their programme and helps them to maintain a positive lifestyle in the community, there is help and guidance available 24 hours a day. In addition to accessing community resources we operate a locally-based centre offering services that assist young people as they become more established in the community. Group sessions on topics such as preparing for work, budgeting, healthy eating, DIY and IT are available at the centre. All the young people supported at Further Options complete a living skills portfolio that includes cooking, gardening and housekeeping. Resettlement support and addiction counselling is also available as needed In addition, Further Options are the managing agents for The Willows SHP Ltd which is a homeless supported housing project. This service is commissioned by Stoke on Trent's City Council's Supporting People Team to provide placements for young people aged 16 - 25 who are single, homeless, or at risk. Care leavers are able to remain in placement post 18 if they meet the eligibility criteria offering them continuation of services at this critical phase of transition. |
