Facilities
The college has a 28-acre site and there are facilities for play, physical and outdoor education. There is specialist accommodation for science, art and design, catering, music and performing arts, and IT. Vocational facilities are being developed. Regular access to a range of community facilities enriches experience and learning.
Young Options residential services provide a full range of leisure, sporting and recreational activities for young people. These are based upon the individual young person’s interests and hobbies and can be varied in their topic, ranging from: shopping through to horse riding. Each external activity available to the young people is risk assessed and supervised if appropriate by residential or education staff. Due to the location of Young Options residential services and of the Young Options college, local amenities are easily accessible for example: Cinema, ice skating, bowling, swimming, scenic walking, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing, football, drama, cubs, scouts, brownies, guides etc.. Young people are actively encouraged to participate in a full recreational programme subject to their ability to participate and risk assessments.
