One of the cornerstones of the Options approach is that we are always looking to establish the best future for the individuals who we serve, and ensure that they are fully prepared for the most independent life possible.
With young people leaving care, this may mean that in order to be a productive and contributing member of society, a little more help and nurturing is needed. We don’t stop needing attention when we hit 18!
Where there is an established need and funding is available to continue post 18, Further Options has several programmes which will enable young people to reach their potential.
For those in our Supported Living schemes, extended accommodation contracts can be arranged, work experience and training placements can be continued.
Our Supported Lodgings scheme is extremely appropriate for Post 18 support, particularly if young people have been living in foster care, and need more time to adjust to the responsibilities of independent living, living alone or living in home-share situations.
