Vocational Training Opportunities
Turning talent into potential into career opportunities – no mean feat, but the specialist trainers who engage young people into qualification and training routes, are experienced in getting the best out of people and helping them to make progress, irrespective of academic background. It’s all about realistic expectations. If you expect to fail, you usually do – so our philosophy is as much about supporting young people to break the cycle of expectation and develop the discipline of continual application of effort as it is about the chosen subject matter.
Each Resource Centre offers a range of training options for young people. .
In house opportunities depend on the young people we work with, but accredited courses on offer include: child care, hospitality and catering, administration, hair and beauty therapy, music and IT skills. Accreditation and qualification routes are available to accommodate each young persons personal need, but include but include ASDAN and NVQ training routes.
In house courses are complemented by courses at local colleges and training establishments. Where training is taken outside the Resource Centre – local support workers are on hand to help young people stay on course – both literally and figuratively.
