Work Experience Options
Our work experience placements are designed to support young people to explore their career aspirations, offer realistic insights into the world of work and to adequately prepare young people for the workplace.
Placements are offered with a range of local businesses with whom we have established relationships, and where a young person has a specific career interest we haven’t come across yet, we will pursue a placement which will offer the experience of work and the working environment that is most appropriate.
Engaging and challenging young people to find a role in which they can thrive is our key objective. To keep things running smoothly It’s not in our interests to maintain a placement where young person or employer is not happy – to keep things running smoothly, we like to ensure that the expectations and objectives of the placement are clear to both the young person and host employer, with regular planned reviews to ensure all parties concerned are benefiting from the placement.
Each Resource Centre offers different placement opportunities – to find out more about work placements for young people leaving care, click here to find your nearest Resource Centre.
